Radis et Capucine has been producing pots for over 25 years to start or rediscover the garden in a fun and playful way...but not only.... But for those who still do not know the brand, here is, from the beginning, the pretty little story of Radish and Capucine.

Once upon a time ...

The family history of Radis and Capucine began in 1927 with grandfather Griffaton who was then a seed producer in Anjou. Now the third generation who runs the company and still sells seeds ... but not quite like the others. Radis et Capucine is still a family company run by the grandchildren of Henri, Jean-Sébastien and Catherine Griffaton.

Seed growers have always sold seeds to .... those who knew how to grow them... Historically, therefore, rather men of a certain age living in the country. Today, there are fewer and fewer gardeners, the land is low, vegetable gardens are even sometimes forbidden in housing estates and why get tired when beautiful vegetables are available all year round at the supermarket. Whatever! the Griffaton managed to bring the seed up to date.

First, the Griffaton created the brand Promoseeds to sell a bag of seeds as an advertising object. Free seed bags, as you can sometimes find, inserted in Pasquier brioche packs or in a box of melted cheese. Gift bags that are also found as a «plus-product» when you buy. They started in 1989 and got the idea to the media agencies and advertisers that it was better to give flower seeds to a woman or cress seeds to children than a plastic product that comes from China and will be thrown away or abandoned at the bottom of a drawer after a few days.

For seeds that germinate, it is logical and reasonable to buy at the source, from the seed producer and manufacturer of its products. That’s why Promoseeds remains the reference for communicating with plants to your customers. You will get from us the best prices for custom seed bags because... we make them !

Radis et Capucine : creator of planting kits in France for gardeners on the discovery

The eternal concept of growing its own herb or flower was revisited by Radish and Capucine more than 25 years ago. Today, urban gardening must offer original containers, strange varieties to grow and great expertise in creating new concepts.

Seed since 1927, we are members of the French Union of Seed Growers (it is better to sell seeds...at least you know that we respect the legislation on seeds) and manufacturer of culture pots to initiate gardening for more than 25 years. Based in Angers, Radis et Capucine designs and assembles its planting kits on its premises. Ecocert certified, we are certified to provide organic seeds.

Aimed at families and children who have kept the ability to marvel, targeting the neophyte urban user with children, who wants beautiful products for herself and to offer. Radish and Capucine turns gardening into a simple and fun game. Beginners or experienced, in the city as in the countryside, from spring to winter, Radishes and Capucine then addresses a new target and modernizes the garden department. For those who don’t know how to garden, who live in the city, who want to offer themselves or a loved one a small ready-made garden (to grow indoors), and who also want to share a good time with their children. The idea is simple: ready-to-use kits with a beautiful pot, fertilized soil and organic seeds ... It is enough to sow, water and let grow quietly, inside, behind the window sill. The success is immediate because it responds to a need to (re)discover nature, garden decoration, do-yourself, at a time when we wonder what treatments are put on the vegetables we eat.

Some examples of exclusive products :

- Evening kits to offer a planting kit with a humorous message - Ex: I bring the aperitif with a kit to grow peanuts.

- Seed bag boxes: Awarded the Innovert d'or at the Salon du Végétal as the commercial innovation of the year, Radis et Capucine has marketed the first 52, 24 or 12 sachets thematic seed bags boxes accompanied by a complete 64-page guide. In addition, the company, by marketing the 2 bags of seeds for 35 euros TTC, proposed the most economical offer on the market, popular with all its internet customers.

- Birthday boxes with nature activities DIY for 10 children: design his Mr. Potato, gifts for birthday, bird feeders... to accompany and entertain children in the discovery of nature.

Radis et Capucine values on gardening

We believe that sowing a seed is above all a game accessible to everyone and that everyone must succeed. This involves a beautiful container that we can afford or offer to someone we love, germinative seeds (by militant choice, we use as much as possible seeds from organic farming), quality soil (so that the seeds can germinate well), with clear, complete and accessible instructions on the packaging. You are not a specialist in plant cultivation, it is up to us to accompany you.

Our seeds are all reproducible and guaranteed to germinate because we are seed producers and therefore regularly controlled by the departments of the Ministry of Agriculture. Beware of products imported from asia, the seeds never germinate and for a planting kit or a growing pot, it is still essential!

The products are assembled without our premises (in Angers for the case of Radis et Capucine). It is still better than imported products. In the end, it is always the consumer who is disappointed because the seeds do not grow, because the product purchased does not meet standards (risk to children) or because the soil is not fertilized and the plant dies too quickly. With us the information is clear and when you buy Radis et Capucine, you support a company with real French creatives and French workers who assemble the products.

Creative kitchen DIY "Food lovers" boxes

The ambition of the «Food lovers» range from Radis et Capucine is to find the authentic and tasty taste of our childhood memories by ourselves, by making simple recipes guided step by step by a chef. This range, with organic ingredients, created in 2013, is symbolized today by the beer brewing boxes of which our company is still the only one to offer a full grain kit with organic malt.

This universe consists of 4 subfamilies :

- The brewing of organic beer

- Traditional recipes based on organic milk or cream: butter, cheeses

- The organic mushroom kits

In 2013, Radis et Capucine proposes to Nature and discovers a range of food preparations to make yourself. The idea was to revisit traditional French recipes to propose everyone to make their own cheese at home, their own Dijon mustard but also brew their own blonde beer. The success is immediate and today You find many products Radish and Capucine made to the brand Nature and discoveries: brew his beer, smoke his fish, make his kefir, make his cheeses, make his tofu, grow his sprouted seeds,...
