Where's the Christmas tree?
The spruce, known scientifically as Picea abies, is a conifer native to the cold regions of Europe. It is often associated with the Christmas tradition, symbolizing light and hope in winter. With its persistent needles and pyramidal port, it has traversed the centuries to become the emblematic tree of the holidays. Choosing to grow your own spruce not only perpetuates an ancestral tradition, but also adds a personal and lasting touch to your celebrations.
Make your Christmas Rabbit a Symbol
Growing a spruce is a commitment to a more environmentally friendly celebration. It takes patience, but the result is worth it: a unique tree, witness to your family memories, and a symbolic gesture for the planet.
Home Radis et Capucine, we share this passion for nature and encourage everyone to explore and cultivate their own chance.
Want to have a homemade Christmas tree?
Here are some tips for success:
1 : Choose a suitable location
The spruce can be grown in pot or in the open ground. If you choose a pot, choose one large enough to allow the tree to grow.
2: Use a rich and well drained soil
A mix of garden soil and compost promotes healthy growth. Make sure the soil stays slightly moist, but without excess water to avoid rotten roots.
3: Give him light
Lepicea loves bright places but tolerates partially shaded areas. Place it outside, sheltered from strong winds.
4: Maintain it throughout the year
Water regularly during dry periods, and add organic fertilizer in the spring to stimulate growth. Slice the branches slightly to keep its conical shape.
