Composition of the bee and honey flower kit:
1 Terracotta pot 5,5cm
1 coconut soil pastille
1 sachet of mellifera flower mix seeds
Mode of cultivation: Flowers of the Bees to sow - Map with pot
Fertilized soil: To promote successful germination, start by soaking the fertilized coconut lozenges in 5 to 6 times their volume of water: they will instantly swell. Unlayer them and fill the pot with a spoon. Remember to keep a small part to cover the seeds after sowing.
Planting the seeds of the honey flowers inside: Open the bag and pour some seeds into your hand. If they are too small, add sand to make it easier to sow. To sow, sprinkle the seeds on the wet soil of coconut not compact, 2 to 3 seeds maximum per pot. Save the remaining seeds for later sowing or to sow directly in your garden or on your balcony when it is sunny. Gently cover the seeds with fertilized coconut soil and tamp lightly.
Watering flower seeds: Ideally use rainwater or filtered water (without chlorine). Prefer a fine rain watering, ideally using a hand spray, to keep the soil just wet, without gorging it with water, throughout the culture. Imagine the soil that has to stay like a wet sponge and then be drained. Do not let the coconut land dry.
The germination of flowers seeds to butterflies and bees: Expose to sunlight behind a glass, without putting on top of a heating, to promote a rapid and abundant germination. Alternatively, from April onwards, expose your balcony, window sill or terrace to the sun. The seeds of pollinating flowers take a few days to germinate and then the plant grows if well watered.
Transplanting: no need to transplant, the crop is done in direct seeding/planting. If necessary, aerate by removing a few plants if your seedling is too dense to leave one plant every 15 cm.
Flowering: the meliflora flowers in mixture bloom between July and September, during which time bees and butterflies search for nectar and pollen.
To know: Bees, it is very nice to see but it is especially very useful for the balance of the environment. Indeed with other insects such as bees and many others they ensure the pollination of flowering plants, and therefore participate in a major way to the production of fruits, therefore seeds and are major players in the reproduction of species. Attracting them to his garden is therefore a matter of interest as well. The safest way is to sow flowering species, colorful, but especially rich in nectar they are fond of.
