Composition :
- 1 terracotta pot 6 cm in diameter
- 1 sachet of seeds of Hops "Humulus lupulus" to sow
- 2 coconut lozenges to rehydrate
Cultivation mode :
- Coconut lands: To promote successful germination, start by soaking the fertilized coconut lozenges in 5 to 6 times their volume of water: they will instantly swell. Fill the pot with a spoon. Do not forget to keep a small part to cover the seeds after sowing.
- Sowing: Open the bag and pour the seeds into your hand. If they are too small, add sand to facilitate sowing. To sow, spread the seeds on the wet soil of non-compact coconut, 2 to 3 seeds maximum per pot. Save the remaining seeds for a later sowing or to sow them directly in your garden or on your balcony when it is sunny. Gently cover the seeds with fertilized coconut soil and tamp lightly.
- Watering: Ideally, use rainwater or filtered water (without chlorine). Prefer a fine rain watering, ideally with a sprayer, to keep the soil just wet, without flooding it with water, during the whole crop. Think of the soil as a wet sponge and then wrung out. Do not let the coconut soil dry.
- Germination: Expose them to sunlight behind a glass window, without putting them over a radiator, to promote rapid and abundant germination. Otherwise, as of April, expose your balcony, window sill or terrace to the sun. The germination of flower seeds takes a few days and the plant then grows if well watered.
- Planting: When the seedlings emerge and reach 5 to 10 cm in height, keep only one plant per pot and transplant the others into new pots or planters along a trellis to allow the plant to climb. Be careful to be delicate, do not break the stems or roots when transplanting. Water to promote regrowth.
