Cultivation method: Antique Terracotta Pot 13cm - Organic Chives*

Fertilized soil: To promote successful germination, start by soaking the fertilized coconut lozenges in 5 to 6 times their volume of water: they will instantly swell. Unlayer them and fill the pot with a spoon. Remember to keep a small part to cover the seeds after sowing.

Seeding the Chiboulette seeds inside: Open the bag and pour seeds into your hand. If they are too small, add sand to make it easier to sow. To sow, sprinkle the seeds on the wet soil of coconut not compact, 2 to 3 seeds maximum per pot. Save the remaining seeds for later sowing or to sow directly in your garden or on your balcony when it is sunny. Gently cover the seeds with fertilized coconut soil and tamp lightly.

Watering aromatic plants: Ideally use rainwater or filtered water (without chlorine). Prefer a fine rain watering, ideally using a hand spray, to keep the soil just wet, without gorging it with water, throughout the culture. Imagine the soil as a wet sponge and then wrung out. Do not let the coconut soil dry.

Germination of the seeds of chives at home: Expose to sunlight behind a glass, without putting on top of a heating, to promote a rapid and abundant germination. Alternatively, from April onwards, expose your balcony, window sill or terrace to the sun. Germination takes a week for the Chiboulette and the plant grows quickly if it does not lack water.

Transplanting Chives: When the seedlings emerge and reach 5 to 10 cm in height, select only one plant per pot and transplant the others into new pots or planters. You can replant directly in your garden if the temperature allows, spacing of 20 cm. Water to promote regrowth

Chives harvest: The chive does not completely tear and is cut. To ensure a constant regrowth cut the stems to two-thirds of their height when harvesting or plant maintenance. Between planting and first harvest, count 2 months.
