Composition :

13x13cm sachet with 1gr of Borage seeds borrago officinalis

Mode of cultivation : Edible borage seeds to sow

Burdock seed sowing: Open the bag and pour seeds into your hand. Sow directly in your garden or in pots on a balcony when the temperature is favorable, by pressing the seeds 5 mm and spacing 25 cm.

Watering borage seeds: Ideally use rainwater or filtered water (without chlorine). Prefer a fine rain watering, ideally using a hand spray, to keep the soil just wet, without gorging it with water, throughout the culture. Imagine the soil that has to stay like a wet sponge and then be drained. Do not let the coconut land dry.

Germination of flower seeds: Expose to sunlight behind a glass, without putting on top of a heating, to promote rapid and abundant germination. Alternatively, from April onwards, expose your balcony, window sill or terrace to the sun. The seeds of the borage flower take a few days to germinate and then the plant grows if it is well watered.

Transplanting: no need to transplant, the crop is done in direct seeding/planting. If necessary, aerate by removing a few plants if your seedling is too dense. Attention each borage plant will need 25 cm to grow.

Harvest: Borage (Borago officinalis) is an annual plant but whose seeds fall to the ground and easily regrows in place every year. Grown for its edible leaves and bright blue flowers, they can be harvested as they appear throughout the season. They are used to decorate salads and dishes, or infused in drinks.

Read more: Borage is appreciated for its medicinal properties. Borage leaves are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and minerals, making them a nutritious and revitalizing food, with a cucumber taste and for use in salads, soups and side dishes. The bright blue borage flowers, with a delicate oysters iodine taste, are also used in dish decoration.
