Cultivation mode: Fir pot with cut out sheath

Fertilized soil: To promote successful germination, start by soaking the fertilized coconut lozenges in 5 to 6 times their volume of water: they will instantly swell. Unlayer them and fill the pot with a spoon. Remember to keep a small part to cover the seeds after sowing.

Planting the Fir seeds inside: Open the bag and pour some seeds into your hand. If they are too small, add sand to make it easier to sow. To sow, sprinkle the seeds on the wet soil of coconut not compact, 2 to 3 seeds maximum per pot. Save the remaining seeds for later sowing or to sow directly in your garden or on your balcony when it is sunny. Gently cover the seeds with fertilized coconut soil and tamp lightly.

Watering young fir trees: Ideally use rainwater or filtered water (without chlorine). Prefer a fine rain watering, ideally using a hand spray, to keep the soil just wet, without gorging it with water, throughout the culture. Imagine the soil as a wet sponge and then wrung out. Do not let the coconut soil dry.

Germination of the seeds of Fir: Expose to sunlight behind a glass, without putting on top of a heating, to promote a rapid and abundant germination. Alternatively, from April onwards, expose your balcony, window sill or terrace to the sun. The seeds of conifers take a few days to germinate and the plant quickly becomes like a small tree. Be patient (e), it is a tree so the growth will be slow.

Planting fir plants: When the seedlings emerge and reach 3 to 5 cm in height, select only one plant per pot and transplant the others into new pots. Be careful to be delicate, not to break the stems or roots when transplanting. Water to promote regrowth

Harvest: The small tree will grow slowly and wait 5 cm after 2 weeks. At the end of a small one it can reach 8 to 10 cm. You can keep it in pot for at least 6 months before replanting it in soil.
